What to expect at Salsa Wave?

  • Classes from level zero; no prior experience needed

  • Small groups, with plenty of individual attention from the instructor

  • Dancing together, switching partners, and practicing with each other. You can come with a partner or solo

What dances do we learn?

Salsa and Bachata are two lively Latin American social dances that have become popular worldwide. Salsa, from Cuba, involves quick footwork, turns, and energetic hip movements, creating a passionate and high-energy dance. On the other hand, Bachata, originating from the Dominican Republic, is a slower, more romantic dance with smooth body movements and an intimate connection between partners. Both, Salsa and Bachata are partner dances which are built on improvisation and interpreting the music. 

About our group classes

  • Beginner Bachata and Salsa Partnerwork

    At these classes, we learn basic steps, figures, and leading/following techniques. Beginner-level groups have open enrollment, which means you can join us anytime. No previous experience is needed.

  • Intermediate Bachata and Salsa Partnerwork

    After mastering the basics, we progress to learning figure combinations, musicality, and footwork. Typically, you should be ready to join this level after completing 6-8 beginner classes or having at least 2 months of prior dance experience.

  • Lady Styling Classes

    Lady Styling Dance Classes focus on adding a lively touch to our dance moves. We emphasize posture, hip movement, and incorporating Latin flair into our steps and arm styling. These classes are ideal for ladies who want to build confidence before joining partnerwork classes. No previous experience is needed.

Private classes

Are you eager to master dancing quickly and efficiently? If so, our private sessions are perfect for you. At the private sessions we tailor the dance program to your needs and focus on your personal growth. Classes are scheduled on an individual basis.

Community events

Salsa Wave is not just about classes. We are building a community of fun loving people to dance and share joy together. We organize our social dance events for everyone to enjoy, practice, and even perform at.
